God Squad

God Squad 2015-2016

This year marks the seventh year of the Holy Spirit God Squad; the Campus Ministry Team headed by Sr. Ellen McCarthy, fcJ our Campus Minister.

Students who are part of God Squad participate in various activities ranging from service projects and our annual Service Day to Liturgical preparation, running underclassmen and middle school retreats and directing prayer experiences throughout the day. They are responsible for our Advent and Lenten Fund Raising Projects.

It is at our school liturgies on Tuesdays and Thursdays that you will see them in action most. Students play a huge role in making our liturgies meaningful. They minister as: Altar Servers, Student Sacristans, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Ministers of Hospitality, Lector Ministry, Music Ministry, and Student Liturgical Coordinators.

This year there will be continued opportunities for the Junior and Senior members to help facilitate retreats for the Middle School students and the Freshmen and Sophomores. Over the 7 years of God Squad's inception, we have trained over two dozen Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. Students on God Squad are also responsible for prayer ministry at school, including the encouragement of prayer at school functions, leading morning and afternoon campus prayer and acting as special ministers at our monthly practice of Adoration.

We are truly blessed here at Holy Spirit with a great group of young women and men who take their faith so seriously. May God bless each one of them!

'This is what Yahweh asks of you, only this...that you act justly, that you love tenderly, that you walk humbly with your God' (Micah 6:8)
