Campus Minister
Dear Friends,

Prayer happens here! Being the Campus Minister here at Holy Spirit, is both a humbling and enlivening experience. This school year marks our fourth year of our God Squad, the youth ministers of the campus. Check out our separate page for information. Their continued commitment to being active young Catholic Christians has had far reaching benefits to both the school community and the wider community here in Western Alabama.

As a Campus Minister, I am called to accompany the students in their faith development, to encourage them to have a deeper relationship with Jesus, and to call each one to use their God given gifts for the good of the community. My job is to encourage them to carry out the school's religious and spiritual mission, to help them to become aware of the world around them, and to help them to develop skills and attitudes for life.

We are pleased this year to be able to offer retreats to every grade in the Middle/High School building. With the help of some outside directors such as Sr Madeleine Gregg, fcJ and Fr. Rick and some of the teachers; each student will have a unique experience of spending part or all of a day apart in prayer and activities designed to develop a relationship with Jesus.

Thank you for entrusting your child's spiritual development to us. And if you like, come and pray with us!

In Companionship,
Sr. Ellen M. McCarthy, fcJ
Campus Minister

This is what Yahweh asks of you, only this...that you act justly, that you love tenderly, that you walk humbly with your God.  Micah 6:8
