I have been performing or teaching music for over 30 years. I currently sing with numerous big bands and dance orchestras throughout the state of Alabama as well as with the Holy Spirit Church choir, where I cantor. While I currently sing jazz, I am classically trained and have had leading roles in productions of Rigoletto, Don Giovanni, The Marriage of Figaro, the Song of Norway, and Les Contes de Hoffman. I have been teaching general music for the past 14 Years, all of which have been at Holy Spirit School!
I have also presented at local and national conferences regarding mathematics and music integration.
Professional AffiliationsI am a member of MENC (Music Educators National Conference), AMEA (Alabama Music Educators Association), AVA (Alabama Vocal Assocation), and NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) .
I moved to Alabama in 2003 to pursue my own personal career as a vocalist and ended up meeting my husband, Allen. We now live in Northport and have two beautiful children. Grady is in 7th grade and Sadie is in 5th grade. I truly feel that there is no better school in Tuscaloosa, which is why I have my own children here. We are members of Holy Spirit Church, and I am the cantor for 11:00 mass on Sunday mornings.
I teach music to grades pre-k through 6, elementary choir, high school choir, drama, sixth grade math, and help out wherever needed. When I'm not performing, teaching, or helping direct our musicals, you can find me in the garden or traveling through New Orleans, my favorite city to visit.
