Masters in Elementary Education, University of West Alabama, 2004
BS in Human Development and Family Studies, University of Alabama, 2000
After many years of teaching swim lessons, I taught preschool for 5 years. It was in my last year of my degree in English when those first preschoolers stole my heart. I was amazed at both the joy and fulfillment working with children was to me. I went to the College of Human Development and Family Studies at The University of Alabama so I could learn everything I could about the growth and development of those precious souls as well as take a closer look at the family dynamic that was behind it all. After studying all ages, I chose to continue my studies in Elementary Education. While working on my Masters, I was a teacher's aide at University Place Montessori School. With a strong passion for Montessori and the development of the whole child, I set out to find a place where I could best practice my goals for nurturing and educating children as individuals. I knew that my goals were set high, but believed that the Lord would provide as He had each step of the way. After several interviews, there was one school that felt like an answered prayer. Although there were several great offers, I could not accept one until I heard from that one school. The Lord most certainly provided as I have now been blessed to be at Holy Spirit since 2004.
I was born and raised in the Tuscaloosa area. I was fortunate to be raised in a loving Christian family who shared the love of Christ with me and I am thankful I can continue to tradition with my own family. I have a wonderful husband of 17 years, Chris, who owns Turner Painting. The Lord blessed us with three amazing children - Joshua, Tyler, and Annelise. All three are at Holy Spirit.
