About Me

I am originally from New Baden, Illinois which is a small community just 30 miles east of St. Louis, MO.  I attended St. George Catholic Grade School and Mater Dei Catholic High School.  I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a B.S. in elementary education and special education.  I married Leo Wagner in 1983.  My husband and I moved to Gadsden, Al in 1984 where we were members of St. James Parish.  I taught at St. James School for four years and was also the religious education coordinator for the parish for three years. During our 10 years in Gadsden we had two children, a son and a daughter.  In 1994, my husband, two children and I moved to Tuscaloosa.  My children attended Holy Spirit School and graduated from Holy Spirit High School. I am happy to say they are both college graduates and are gainfully employed. I taught the fifth grade for six years, then moved to second grade.  This is my nineteenth year teaching second grade.
